Cliff Gardner
Founder & CEO
As co-founder and CEO of Gardner & Associates, Cliff brings to the organization more than 50 years of combined experience in public schools and retirement services, including his 21 years as a campus administrator and superintendent. Cliff was raised in West Texas by his parents who were in the education system, showing him where his values lie. Those strong convictions and beliefs live on to this day, as he continues to help educators and their families with their retirement planning. “Witnessing and experiencing the issues faced by Texas educators catalyzed my passion for helping them. Unfortunately, despite how much they give to the community, they’re often underserved themselves,” Cliff says.
He’s found beneficial solutions in creating income streams in retirement to supplement and assist the pension educators receive from their Retirement System. “Most of the time an educator’s pension doesn’t cover all of the bases in retirement,” Cliff says. “I see it as my responsibility to ensure that educators either reduce or eliminate the gap between what they will have and what they actually need.”
Ironically, one of the biggest problems Cliff sees with educators is their lack of knowledge about retirement readiness, an issue he’s taken upon himself to address. Now, he enjoys spreading the knowledge and information he has gained over an entire lifetime to help those facing the same issues he, his parents and his son faced.
In Cliff’s spare time he enjoys fishing, golfing, carpentry, and most of all, spending quality time with his family and friends.
